The J.L. Williams, Sr. Lay Organization sweeps the awards at the 11th District Lay Organization 2o1o Convention! This year's Lay Convention on Biscayne Bay in Miami, FL, June 21-25, 2010 was awesome! On Awards night, 4 members of the JLWSrLO received God's blessings through awards! Sis. Loretta Coppock: The Anvil Award; Bro. Christopher Evans: The Willie J. Williams Music Scholarship; Bro. J.L. Williams, Jr.: Outstanding Lay Person of the Year; Sis. Angela J.S. Garner: The Soldier of the Cross! EAST CONFERENCE LAY ORGANIZATION'S WITNESS from the 2009 East Conference, Thursday evening, October 22 with The Reverend Karl Smith (Pastor of Greater Bethel AME Church Gainseville) as the preacher, is available on CD and DVD at St Stephen AMEC. Contact us for more info.

THE EAST CONFERENCE LAY IS FEATURED IN AN HISTORICAL VIDEO PRESENTATION!
Immediate past East Conference President Brother Joseph S. Coppock, Jr. and preceding presidents, were introduced to the attendants of our Awards Banquet at the Crown Plaza Riverfront Hotel. The video presentation includes information from 1946 through 2008, as we celebrate 60 official years. The present East Conference President is Brother Aaron Jones, Jr; he is introduced near the end. The East Conference and St. Paul AMEC, Jacksonville, hold three positions at the Episcopal District level of The Lay Organization: Sister Christine Garner Atkinson, our local President, is the Financial Secretary, Sister Angela Surcey Garner is the Assistant Recording Secretary, and Sister Loretta Coppock is Director of Programs & Activities. At the East Conference level as Corresponding Secretary is our Historiographer: Sister Maria Pearson. The President of the EEDLO is Charlie Nichols of the Florida Conference.
